This event in 2027 is officially part of the NZ series.

Supplementary Regs available.
Come along and cheer Mitch on to do Gold again.
Once a year the gates are opened up for the Korito Technical Matrix (KTM). The training tracks are joined up and you get to challenge yourself (& your mates) around a standard XC loop. Included in the lap are some single track for the Silver and Gold classes. Plus at the end of each lap is a matrix challenge. Great viewing beside the car park for spectators of the matrix.
Live streaming link for this event will be provided closer to the time. Also near real time scoring of qualification and main event scoring has been considerably improved this year. Thanks to SilverBullet for investing in this one of a kind event in New Zealand.
Live scoring results will be shown on the big screen, weather permitting.
It's a quick fire fun event with a morning prologue plus an afternoon 2 hour XC race. There will be pay it forward spot prizes for the best post-race stories, a BBQ and lollies for young (and not so young).
Prize vouchers are up for grabs across all Gold, Silver, Bronze.
Chicken lines have been added for all classes to keep the afternoon race flowing.
Schedule listed: 7:45 - 8:45 riders sign in; 9:00 riders briefing; 9:30 Bronze qualification; 10:00 Silver qualification; 10:30 Gold (and LCQ) qualifications; 11:40 main event briefing; 12:15 race starts, where riders will leave at 1 minute intervals; 15:00 approx prize giving with coffee, ice cream, and lollies.
Race will be 4 laps for each class (Gold, Silver, Bronze). Total race time around the two hour mark.
Each lap for Gold/Silver/Bronze includes riding the matrix section.
Penalties per lap in the matrix: 1 = 10 secs; 2 = 20 secs; 3+ = 30 secs; 5 (unable to complete matrix as per normal sections rules) = 50 secs penalty.
The XC lap time plus the matrix scoring will accumulate to provide lap time and class results.
Winner of race per class will receive a bag of lollies. Spot prizes for everyone.
Qualification result only determines start time of the main event. No penalties will be carried forward to the main race. Fastest qualification time means you start first; slowest means you start last.
Fastest qualifier of each class gets to choose whether to start 1, 2, or 3 in their respective class. Example given: fastest picks 3rd start place, 2nd fastest can choose 1 or 2, 3rd fastest gets what is left; 4th fastest starts 4th; 5th fastest starts 5th; etc.
Parking will be down by the old rotary cowshed, beside the matrix.
Kitchen, shower and toilet facilities are an easy walk up the hill to the new rotary cowshed.
BBQ supplied after the event, around 14:30. Depending on the weather, ice creams may be supplied too.
Sounds too good to be true - come along and find out.
See you there.
